    Can you americans learn to say ‘niche’ its not pronounced ‘nitch’ its NEE-SH

    And i was equally dissapointed that the ipad was not 100% perfect the first time round with a completely bug free new OS variant! i mean come on! and those app crashes! did none of the developers even try them out on their own ipads first! its almost like they never used one before! WTF!

  7. jimmypubeface23 says:

    maybe he should have mentioned that if your a member of the youngturks you cant watch their videos from their website coz of flash, what a douche lowe is

  8. jimmypubeface23 says:

    i can only image apple fanboys buying this product.
    (i like and own apple products by the way just before i get called an apple hater again)

  9. Pylo01 says:

    They should just put a nice touch screen on a sub-notebook and it would be a million times better than this shit while remaining roughly the same size and portability.

  10. aoescool says:

    APPLE IS A JOKE i have an i touch and it does the same thing this big piece of shit does.

    Cons: no usb, no flash support, no cd port, wireless g tech, too expensive.

    Just buy a laptop and be done with it.. this is just eye candy for the those douchy guys in starbucks.

    More to my point, consider this:
    Even though the PS3 in my opinion is more advanced than it’s competitors but the sales prove that no one was willing to pay $600 for a console. Sony lowered it to $450 at one point but late last year, they made the plunge to $300 and that was a real sweet spot for people who held out for a console they really wanted. Now Sony may have lost some money on that but companies usually lose money on console hardware anyway. Apple needs to follow suit and lower price

  12. ref1ex says:

    I agree with both with Cenk and the IGN guy. I got to play with the iPad this weekend and it is a fun device. But it’s hard to justify getting it if you want to type extensively. If this is supposed to be better than a netbook, then they need to price it accordingly. So I agree that it is more of a toy and it needs to be priced under $400. Women carry purses so they can place it in that but us men won’t be toting this around since it won’t fit in our pocket. At that point, stick to the laptop.

  13. dslcobra says:

    @dslcobra

    The $500 entry price is a teaser price.

    SORRY, you still need a battery replacement plan which is $99 for 2 years. Lithium Polymer batteries wear out faster than Lithium Ion.

  14. dslcobra says:

    MAJOR CONS = no camera, no USB connectivity, no standard 3G, poor stereo speakers, no FLASH and wifi that has problems with dual band routers. I also hate that you can’t replace the battery yourself.

    MAJOR PRO’s are the battery life and its screen size. Its easier than using a laptop. Once it gets FLASH or HTML 5, it will have full internet access and will be better than netbooks for web browsing.

  15. jimbrown257 says:

    Near the end of this video, Cenk says he thinks the iPad will fail because you can’t write on it that easily but really, how many of the zillions of computer owners use them to write more than a few lines? Based on what I have seen from the average computer user, most people don’t even know how to write. The Twitter crowd isn’t working on novels on these devices.

  16. fischkopp1234 says:

    @mrpitchf0rk
    You’re right and I never claimed that I speak for everybody. But it is overhyped, because it is not like the iPad is the revolution that Apple claims it to be. And the amount of advertisement crap, that follows me everywhere borders on molestation.

  17. mrpitchf0rk says:

    @theoriginalKland Egotistical, delusional.

  18. theoriginalKland says:

    @mrpitchf0rk I figured as much.

    If you can find anything dishonest or unreasonable about what I said, then you obviously don’t like facts or reason.

  19. mrpitchf0rk says:

    @megamarsvin I’ve decided that if people can’t already see that they’re wrong then they never will because they don’t want to.

  20. megamarsvin says:

    Great arguments there, you sure showed me my place with your well informed critique ;)

  21. megamarsvin says:

    -cont-

    and point by point:

    The mouse: Xerox
    The desktop gui: Xerox
    Optical media: Invented in the 70s, not by apple, and the ISO standard was jointly developed by many corporations (granted, including Apple) but popularized by Microsoft’s Joliet standard.
    USB: again not attributable to one company, obviously. Apple pushed for Firewire instead of USB.
    Multitouch: Meh you can have that one, hardly revolutionary.
    HTML5: again a public standard, not Apple’s innovation.

    Feel free to try again.

  22. mrpitchf0rk says:

    @megamarsvin You’re just wrong. Almost nothing you’ve said is true. You’re hopeless and a waste of time.

  23. megamarsvin says:

    That’s the same bullshit argument Bill Gates makes “if it wasn’t for me no one would be using computers” except that’s obviously stupid, because someone else would have done it if Microsoft hadn’t cornered the market.

    As for Microsoft, they suck too but Apple’s draconian DRM policies make them look decent by comparison. Apple is the antithesis of innovation, it locks down all its products so the user can’t do anything the corporation hasn’t pre-ok’d. That’s why I hate Apple. Unix all the way.

  24. megamarsvin says:

    Then give me a counter argument. I’ve given you mine. Tell me how I’m wrong.

  25. mrpitchf0rk says:

    @theoriginalKland I have one, it’s just that you’re dishonest and unreasonable so it’s useless talking to you.
