I am an avid book reader and was getting tired of constantly donating books because I was out of shelf space. I am one of those people that occassionaly will read a book again so this was very frustrating! Originally, I was trying to save money and ordered a refurbished Amazon Kindle 1. It arrived and I hated it! I immediately sent it back the very same afternoon – I just knew it would never work for me.

So, I decided to bite the bullet and order a new Amazon Kindle 2 and it is amazing! Where has it been all my life? This device has completely changed how I read now. I read six books in the first week! The Amazon Kindle 2 design is sleek, lightweight and easy to read. The navigation is ridiculously simple – my Blackberry was more difficult to learn. Have I mentioned the Whispernet yet? A new book in about a minute (it’s so fast, I haven’t really timed it!)! No more trips to the bookstore or waiting for UPS. Yeah.

I do miss the ability to feel and turn the paper of a book, but the ease of use and flexiblity of the Amazon Kindle 2 makes up for the loss.

Amazon Kindle – Reading at night is easier

I am retired and love to read myself to sleep, but reading in bed is difficult when I needed glasses in order to read. The Amazon Kindle has solved this problem because I can easily set the text size to a larger print and see to read. Everything I read about the Amazon Kindle is true and I love this product. I live in a slower download area (1X), but it only took an hour to download a 600 page book. I plan to download several books the next time I go 10 miles to the nearest city just to see what that is like.

I was taken by surprise yesterday when I went to see my doctor for an annual checkup. I had the Amazon Kindle, and the nurse who was taking information about me noticed it and said (excitedly), “Is that an Amazon Kindle?”. Then she went to two other women in the office to show it to them. They had lots of questions to ask about it.
