Does Amazon’s Kindle 2 make sense for baby boomers?

My 24-year-old son got a Kindle 2 from Amazon more than a month ago and speaks glowingly of his new purchase and how it has affected his reading life. He commutes to work everyday on the subway and bus and finds it perfect for reading the Washington Post and books that otherwise would be difficult to read in a cramped space. It works for him, but what about baby boomers? I’m a member of the first class of boomers and used to dead tree editions of books and other publications. I purchased one and have had it for a week and have used it for everything from reading in the dentist’s chair to reading when traffic is stopped to wait for a train. This video shows when I unpacked the device after receiving it and my blog post tells about my Kindle 2 experience to this point.
