Review of Entourage Edge eBook Reader

The Entourage Edge has more or less the same looks and shape as a netbook, but it is not a netbook. While net books have a single screen and a keyboard these machine sports two screens – a 9.7 inch eInk display and a 10.1 inch LCD color display. While the reviewer found the machine a bit bulky she is quite impressed with its ability to serve multiple purposes. In fact, with its versatility, the Edge does manage to make Amazon’s Kindle look boring. The Edge is essentially an eBook reader but at 3 pounds, it is many times heavier than a dedicated eBook reader. You can use this device to download and read eBooks on the eInk display. You may also take notes on either of the touch sensitive displays with the included stylus.

The Edge has a built-in journal and voice recorder so you can record lectures. And when you feel the need to, you may check your favorite websites such as Facebook or Twitter. And unlike dedicated eBook readers, the Edge can play music and video. Since Edge is an Android-powered device it can run numerous third party applications such as the Dolphin Web browser, an RSS reader and Facebook and Twitter applications.

On the flip side, the software that ships with the device isn’t up to the market. In fact, the apps store is not yet fully functional and stocks fewer best sellers than the Kindle apps store. But these are issues that may get solved by the time the machine hits the street.

Great jacket at a reasonable price

After looking at hundreds of jackets, I decided on the M-Edge Latitude in red/black. I like the all-around zip, fleece lining, and hardboard construction. My kindle fits securely in the corner tabs. It is attractive and protects my kindle very well. The only drawback being that although the pictures show that your kindle power cord may be stored in either the zip front pocket or slip pocket on the back, I found that it was just too tight a fit to really be practical. Overall, I think this is a great way to carry and protect your investment at a reasonable price. I paired mine with the Zen Revisited Design Protective Decal Skin Sticker for a great custom look!

M-Edge Jacket is Marvelous

I wanted a jacket that enclosed my Kindle on all sides since I often carry it in my gym bag. The jacket is made of a high-quality material and it even has a few utility pockets on the outside. When I’m reading my Kindle I fold the left side of the jacket back. The material that rests against my hand is very soft and comfortable to hold. I highly recommend this product!

Best Cover yet!!!

I absolutely love this cover, it compact and keeps my Kindle very secure. As a matter of fact, the cover make holding the Kindle much more comfortable. Great Jacket for my Kindle!

This jacket is terrific! The zippers allow me to charge it with the jacket still on. I wasn’t sure if I was going to hold the Kindle like a book or fold over the cover when I bought it, but like the ability to do both! The front pocket with zipper holds the charger with ease and the padding inside is great…took it on vacation and felt confident that it was protected! I would definitely recommend this product.

It’s great! I find it much easier to hold with the jacket and I don’t accidentally hit the control keys. I also found that you can open the jacket and then zip the cover up so it is easier to hold.

M-Edge for Kindle

I’ve been using this with my Kindle, for about a month now. While it looks nice and is protective, its not easily used while actually reading. When the front cover is folded back, its much too thick and bulky and you have to remove the charger, etc, from the pockets before folding it back for reading purposes. I just use it while traveling, to protect my Kindle.

Great Jacket. I bought this as a gift and needed something red. This was my first choice and it really works. You can use it as a zip cover or you can insert the corners into leather retainers and it becomes a jacket. The extra zip p0cket is big enough to hold the charger and cord. That is very convenient. 
The fabric material is very strong and zippers seem to be very durable. It is also padded to provide protection for your kindle.

Excellent protection for your Kindle

I chose the M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket primarily for utility and durability. It was the right choice on both counts. It is very well-made and the zippers are heavy enough to last, but still be stylish. The soft inner sleeve protects my Kindle screen from errant doggies, cookie crumbs or carelessly placed soda cans. Mostly it puts at ease my anxious imagination about such incidents. I gave due consideration to leather, the material comsurate with my pride in owning a Kindle. I opted for the practical solution. The Jacket fits snugly, but well. It is well-crafted and easy to keep. It has a pocket for the reading lamp when in use or stored. 
The only criticism I have is that the charger does not fit in the pocket as illustrated. I chose the red and black. It looks better than in the picture.

Press the Power Button on the side of the enTourage eDGe to turn it on. Press and hold the same button later to turn it off, or simply close the device to put it in a power-saving sleep mode. When you first turn on your enTourage eDGe youll need to calibrate the e-reader. Use your stylus to touch the center of each target. At the bottom of the touchscreen youll find a navigation bar with links to the enTourage book store, your library, the web browser, email, and the applications menu. The apps menu includes access to your contacts, a dictionary, a document editor, a sound recorder, and more. It also lets you open your recent documents, and has quick links to: open Help, lock the touchscreen to use just the e-reader, and adjust Wireless settings. To connect to the internet, press the Wireless shortcut on the apps menu. If you select Network notification your enTourage eDGe will look for available networks, or you can press Add WI-FI network to enter the name of a network and its password. If WiFi is unavailable, an Ethernet-to-USB adaptor can connect you to the internet through a landline. The next thing youll need to do is register your device so that you can buy books and back up your files. Press the Register app in the apps menu and fill out the form on the screen. If you press and hold the home screen, you can change your wallpaper or add app shortcuts.
