You are not last in the queue? Three reasons why it is not too late to start an online business
If, like me, you have been starting an online business during 2010 then sometimes it would have felt like you were arriving a little late at the party. There are so many successful people out there, so many smart ideas out there, so many niches uncovered and exploited. Surely it’s too late for any of the rest of us to get a bit of the action….isn’t it?
Having done a little thinking about this, I think there are 3 good reasons why it definitely is not too late.
Reason 1 – Consumers are getting so much more comfortable buying online good online.
Just a few years ago I would still feel a little uneasy about entering my credit card details on line. Now, with numerous successful online purchases behind me, I rarely give it a second thought.
Reason 2 – We are getting the gadgets we need to consume eBooks and information products.
The new Kindle and I pad are both gorgeous gadgets and a delight to own. It is no surprise therefore that Amazon reported this summer that the sale of eBooks outstripped hardback sales for the first time. Indeed earlier this month the Association of American Publishers reported that US eBook sales rose by 193% between Jan and Aug this year. That’s 193% in less than a year….Wow!
Reason 3 – The internet is simply more convenient for most purchases.
Now I know I won’t convince the devoted shopaholic on this point. However I would argue that if you have a busy life the internet wins hands down over the shopping mall. You can compare prices and get the best deal in minutes. You can complete your purchase at midnight dressed in your pyjamas. You can download that vital information product and be reading it within five minutes of turning on your computer.
In conclusion I think that saying, in 2010, that it’s too late to start an online business is like saying in 1966 that there was no point getting into popular music.
Sure we had already seen Elvis, the Beach Boys and the Beatles by then. But music grew and evolved and continues to do so. So will the internet marketplace.
So come on let’s get strumming…I will be John you can be Ringo!
David Price lives near London and has been building an online business at evenings and weekends while he continues to hold down the day job.

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 12, 2010
It’s in magazines and newspapers. It’s on television and radio. It’s on buses and billboards and pretty much everywhere you look (except for Apple stores, where it’s likely still sold out). It’s the iPad! Selling three million units in the first 80 days, this hot new touchscreen tablet from Apple is a runaway hit.
Every iPhone and iPod Touch app developer looking to take the next step is moving into the iPad arena. Right now there are more than 200,000 apps in the App Store. With the iPad’s ability to run most of these existing apps without any modifications, iPad users have immediate access to a vast catalog of apps.
Although an existing iPhone app may run fine on the iPad, these unmodified apps provide an inferior user experience. iPhone apps pale in comparison to the sheer beauty and flexibility of native iPad apps. At the end of the day, iPhone and iPad are inherently different beasts, with different form factors and capabilities that encourage different usage patterns.
iPhone apps were designed for the iPhone, while the iPad should be treated as an entirely new platform with its own set of design requirements. Dave Wooldridge author of Apress’s latest book “Beginning iPad Development for iPhone Developers: Mastering the iPad SDK” provides three useful tips for all iPhone developers who want to leverage their skills to master the iPad-exclusive frameworks and features to create professional apps for the iPad:
1) Design app interfaces optimized for the iPad by taking advantage of the new UIKit features:
Popovers
Split View Controllers
Modal Views
2) Build powerful productivity solutions that utilize:
New graphics functionality
Core Text
Document Sharing
Advanced input methods
3) Take advantage of the iPad’s superior media capabilities with its new video and display options

How to read news papers on the ipad- Three simple steps
<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>
Do you want to read newspapers on your iPad? And do you know how to read newspapers on your iPad? If you don’t know how to read newspapers on your ipad, the how- to below will show you.
Apple’s ipad is well built for the purpose of reading newspapers and magazine. The book-like user interface, navigation aids, graphics and vivid color display makes reading newspapers and magazines on the ipad particularly more enjoyable than on the kindle.
I have tried reading papers on the Kindle, and I didn’t find the experience to be interesting. I missed the graphics and navigation aids I expected with the physical papers. But on the iPad, the applications look a lot better, and in general, reading the papers that way has been a great experience.
On the ipad you can read ebooks and newspapers in flip book style reading. You can also read the best newspapers from top publishers on the iPad in a few simple clicks. Newspaper reading is especially customized for comfortable big screen viewing.
Downloading newspapers to read on your ipad is very simple and can be summarized in three simple steps:
First Step:
Buy an ipad. Head over to apple.com, amazon or your trusted local retailer and purchase one. Its going to cost you between 9-9 for an ipad of your model of choice at apple.com.
Second step:
Tap on the apps icon on iPad home screen to check the apps that are installed on your iPad. You can go to an App store and add applications for top newspapers like New York Times. Purchase the iBooks app if you intend to read e-books also. Apple will charge .99 for iBooks, which is compatible with their Mac versions. Appsare also available to access news content from BBC News, USA today, Wall Street Journal, Financial times among others (most newspapers charge a subscription fee). you can search the apps store for desired news apps.
Third step:
Once your newspaper app is loaded on iPad, Adjust the screen and light to how you want to read. Select the number of columns and fonts you would like to read with. The New York Times app for instance has a drop-down contextual menus and support for multi-touch functionality. Relax and enjoy reading
