Tablet PC manufacturers began to break through

Tablet PC manufacturers began to break through

Tablet PC manufacturers began to break through

“Not to produce tablet PCs is to expect demise, to produce tablet PCs equals to seeking death.” This is existent PC manufacturers` status of vivid description under gloom of Apple`s iPad.

Facing Apple`s dominance to the tablet PC market, domestic manufacturers do not want to follow Lanci the CEO and president of Acer who quitted in a temporary impulse because its sales for PC products rapidly declined under the impact of iPad. But local brands should do something to prove themselves, tackle or outflank? Product differentiating, or the industry winning? The end of March, Lenovo chooses the second and third line market to first publish its own Le Pad, which seems to provide the market a clear signal that domestic tablet PCs still have a chance, but not first-tier cities.

Many years ago, we have discussed whether to replace laptop computers, we had the answer that is impossible, because the notebook’s performance and experience are greater than the gap between desktop PCs, at least we do not recommend users to choose notebooks as their first computer. But today, despite the scientific computing, graphics design and gaming enthusiasts still prefer desktops, but notebook computers have become the largest PC market, while the market share of the desktop became a small market. Then the Tablet PC is so popular today, can the new tablet computer replace the traditional PC (desktop computers, notebook computers) it?

China Pad rushed to take up market share. Currently, the market of tablet PC is rising rapidly. Market research firm——Gartner recently predicted that sales for tablet PC will be up to 69.8 million units in the world, and will increase to 294 million units.

The strong market share makes many traditional PC venders and even non-PC venders to rush to take up, including Lenovo, Aigo, Hanwang Technology, Malata and other local companies full engaged.

“Since last year, the most important strategic product is a Tablet PC.” The chairman of Malata Group—Wu Huitian said in the interview.

Lenovo takes its own Le Pad as a last line of defense against competitors. “The traditional PC business is more difficult to make profits than ever, if we do not turn to market of tablet PC, Lenovo will go bankrupt.” The chairman of Lenovo Group—Liu Chuanzhi describes the strategic position of Tablet PC.

In first launching ceremony of Le Pad, CEO of Lenovo—Yang Yuanqin is ambitious to say, “We take Apple, BlackBerry, Samsung as rival, to focus on innovation of products, brands and business model. Lenovo will capture 10% global market share in the future”
