Question by asdf: What are some upcoming portable media players/tablets in the near future?
By PMP, I mean 5′ or lower like the ipod touch 4g. So far, the ipod touch 4g and archos 43/archos32 are out but it seems that they don’t fit my preference. The Samsung yp-g50 or 50 galaxy tablet is coming out in the near future but any other notable pmp’s that are coming out this year or early next year?
My preference:
long battery life
touch screen
play hd videos
record hd videos(720 p and higher) and take quality pictures( at least 2mp)
portable
stable wifi

Prepare for yet another upcoming tablet UPDATE. This one features one of the most promising Android based devices that will likely pose serious competition for the iPad. While on the surface, Samsung’s Galaxy is merely a smaller iPad running Android, a closer look reveals some important reasons not to dismiss the Galaxy Tab altogether. It takes photos, it videoconferences, it plays content (including Flash media) that the iPad will not. Furthermore it may be the best “open” solution to Apple’s closed ecosystem. Overall, key points like pricing and service provider may put Galaxy Tab on top. The specs of the device are not particularly revolutionary in this market but it does have a slight edge to the iPad and most other upcoming Android based tablets. Galaxy Tab includes: 7.0 inch TFT-LCD display @ 1024 x 600 pixles, Cortex A8 1.0 Gigahertz Application Processor with PowerVR SGX540, 3 MegaPixel Camera with Auto-Focus and LED Flash, 1.3 MegaPixel front camera for Video Telephony, Wi Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0, 30-pin dock connector, Gyroscope sensor, Geo-magnetic sensor, Accelerometer, Light sensor, 16 Gigabyte or 32 Gigabyte internal memory with up to 32 Gigabyte external memory slot, 512 MB of RAM, 3G …
